Greg Kestler is GPA’s Business Development Director of Labels & Films. In this role, he works closely with GPA’s vendors to bring new and innovative products to market, and provides in-depth education and technical support to GPA’s customers and internal teams to demonstrate how GPA’s substrates can be used profitably to create new opportunities.
As a trusted collaborator and innovator, Greg is driven by the desire to help GPA’s customers grow their business through unique substrates and market expertise. By working closely with GPA’s supplier partners, he is able to bring the most unique and highest quality products to market. He has been around the globe in his quest to learn and share everything about the world of specialty substrates, including Israel, Germany, Chile, and Brussels, and he regularly speaks on behalf of GPA to industry associations, marketing and design organizations and with customers to share the latest developments in the printing industry, and how they can be used to their benefit.
During Greg’s extensive career at GPA, he has made a considerable impact on GPA’s products, processes and culture. One of Greg’s significant contributions to GPA is his development of the Ultra Film® product offering, which is one of the most comprehensive collections of pressure sensitive papers and synthetic substrates in the industry. When digital printing came into the picture, he expanded the offering for HP Indigo and toner digital presses. He also had a major influence in GPA’s creation of a strategic internal sales processes designed to help customers maximize the investment in their press technology and expand into new opportunities.
For his many major contributions to the company, Greg was presented with GPA’s President’s Award for the year 2000, which is presented to one employee a year for high levels of achievement in promoting GPA’s corporate goals throughout the year, and for unselfishly going above and beyond the call of duty. He also earned the Sales Professional of the Year Award in 1993 for his demonstrated success as a Territory Sales Manager.
As GPA’s most senior veteran and unofficial corporate historian, Greg’s career at GPA began in 1982 as a Customer Service Representative. Throughout the years, he gained a keen perspective on the business as he advanced through a number of different roles. He served as GPA’s Warehouse Manager, became the Customer Service Manager, worked in the Purchasing department, and as a Territory Sales Manager. He was promoted to the position of Printable Films Product Manager, until he advanced to his current role in 2011. Before he joined GPA, Greg spent four years at a paper distributor in roles ranging from Warehouse Associate, Freight Manager, Sample Department Coordinator and Customer Service Professional. He also worked as a print sales professional at a printing business for a year.
Greg stays active in his community by volunteering at his church, and through a local organization called the Samaritan Network, whose mission is to provide assistance to individuals in need.
