Senior Vice President,
As GPA’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy, Mary Ann unifies GPA’s marketing, product, research and development, and technical teams, leading them as one cohesive force to provide maximum benefit to GPA’s customers.
Mary Ann’s understanding of the technical mechanics of printing is amplified by her creative background, resulting in a uniquely knowledgeable perspective of the graphic arts industry. She has traveled around the country speaking at different events and to a variety of audiences, including industry association members, advertising, marketing and graphic design professionals, and GPA customers on topics ranging from technical matters to marketing and creative ideas. Her extensive product and market knowledge led her to create GPA’s internal Films Training Program, and the development of GPA’s initial Wide Format product offering.
Mary Ann is passionate about all things printed, and her experience in the graphic arts industry began at age 17 when she started working as a typesetter and keyliner. After graduating from college, she went on to teach evening classes in Computer Graphic Design. She spent a decade as an Account Executive at several graphic design firms; after this, she joined a paper merchant where for eight years she held different roles, including Specification Sales Representative, Marketing Services Manager and Fine Paper Sales Manager.
Her enthusiastic approach to business helped Mary Ann become the first person to earn GPA’s Sales Professional of the Year Award twice; she won in both 2001 and 2005 for her substantial contributions to the company and ability to create meaningful results. Mary Ann was also presented with GPA’s President’s Award in 2005 and 2014, which is given to one employee each year for extraordinary achievement in promoting GPA’s corporate goals.
Mary Ann joined GPA in 1999 as a Territory Sales Manager, and eventually held dual roles while also serving as Specification Sales Manager. In 2014, she was promoted to the position of Area Vice President for the Central Region, where she provided leadership and support to GPA’s Business Development Managers. She was appointed to her current position in 2016.
Mary Ann received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and Minor in Visual Communications from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and completed the Advanced Selling School program from M3 Learning.
Her passion for helping others achieve their best extends into her personal life. Mary Ann is a certified personal trainer and YMCA fitness instructor, and has helped with fundraisers to benefit children and the Livestrong Foundation for cancer support.
