Mike McConville serves as the Vice President for the Northeastern United States Region at GPA. In this role, he provides leadership and support to GPA’s Territory Sales Managers in the Northeastern Region, and for ensures that optimum operational support levels are in place to attentively respond to the needs of GPA’s customers. In conjunction with the team at GPA’s headquarters, Mike provides daily coaching and guidance to our Connecticut-based Customer Support and Warehouse professionals.
He regularly engages with GPA’s customers to learn about their needs and helps create solutions for them to win in a competitive marketplace. According to Mike, his favorite part of the job is helping others achieve more than they thought was possible, for both his team and GPA’s customers. He often represents GPA at industry events and on-site at customers’ locations, and works side by side to show them how GPA can provide greater value to their organization.
Since Mike joined GPA, he has made many lasting contributions to the GPA’s growth service levels. He was instrumental in facilitating two separate expansions of the Northeastern regional headquarters, which has better positioned the company to serve the growing needs of our customers. He also developed a strategic internal process that helps GPA’s Territory Sales Managers approach the sales process methodically, in turn helping clients maximize the investment in their press technology.
Mike’s professional career began in 1986 as a sales representative with xpedx, a division of International Paper. He advanced to the position of sales manager, then became a division manager until he joined GPA in 2005 as Eastern Region General Manager. In 2011 he was promoted to his current position. He credits his winning track record of sales growth as a sales associate and manager to his belief in listening, learning and continual improvement starting at the personal level.
Beyond GPA, Mike is active in the printing industry and currently serves on the Printing Industries of New England (PINE) board of directors. His passion for helping others succeed extends into his personal life, where he has spent years coaching his four sons’ baseball, basketball and soccer teams. He also gives back to his community by volunteering with the AmeriCares Home Front program, which helps refurbish homes for those in need.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Providence College.
