Senior Process Engineer
As Senior Process Engineer at GPA, Ken Mikos plays a vital role in maintaining GPA's compliance with various organizations, and for documenting, governing and monitoring GPA's technical and production-related processes. His attention to excellence and detail are guided by his personal beliefs in doing things right the first time and for taking pride in what you do.
In his current position, Ken creates and implements standards that ensure quality and accountability throughout the company. He is responsible for maintaining GPA’s FSC and OSHA compliance, and as GPA continues to expand, he also guides the planning and design of physical additions as well as workflow-related enhancements. Additionally, Ken works closely with GPA’s partners and Director of R & D and Technical Services to qualify new substrates and bring innovative new products to market.
Ken’s diverse professional background includes 10 years as an aircraft mechanic, eight years as a chief building engineer for high-rise and other properties in and around the Chicago area, and three years in operations at a California biotech company. In 2010, Ken joined GPA as an Operations Manager, and in 2012 he was promoted to Director of Converting and Distribution. In 2014, he took on the role of Director of Converting, and in the same year moved to the position of Director of Research and Development until taking on his current position in 2015.
A graduate of Lewis University in Illinois, Ken has a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Maintenance and a minor in Avionics. He also has an Associate of Applied Science degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from South Suburban College in Illinois.
