Heather Jenkins

Director of Human Resources

As Director of Human Resources at GPA, Heather Jenkins is committed to helping employees work as a unified team and achieve goals beyond their expectations. She is responsible for employee training and development, benefits negotiation and administration, employee relations, the creation and administration of company policies and procedures, and talent acquisition. She does whatever she can to further advance GPA’s knowledgeable, world-class team of professionals.

Heather takes great pride in helping people, and considers this one of the favorite parts of her job. One of her greatest strengths is her ability to relate to employees within all levels of the organization; this allows her to bridge potential communication gaps, which helps to improve employee engagement, business efficiency, and overall employee satisfaction. She strives to enrich the company through both broad-reaching programs, as well as small meaningful touches. Her personal philosophy is “quality over quantity,” which helps her continually focus on ensuring that each employee has the support and tools they need to achieve personal and professional success at GPA.

Heather’s career in Human Resources began at the House of Blues Chicago, where in the span of two years she quickly worked her way from intern to Human Resources Assistant. From there she joined Canon Business Solutions, where she spent five years further developing her HR experience, ultimately serving as their Human Resources Generalist. She joined GPA in 2005 as Human Resources Manager, and in 2011 she was promoted to her current position.

The passion Heather has for her job is evident in her many achievements at GPA. During her tenure, GPA has been named “Best Workplace” seven times by the Printing Industries of America – a designation awarded to companies that demonstrate fairness and generosity in company policies and HR practices. She also led a leadership development program designed to help employees in all levels of management better understand each other’s personalities, working styles and communication preferences. Heather is the recipient of GPA’s 2006 President’s Award, which is presented to one employee a year for high levels of achievement in promoting GPA’s corporate goals, and for unselfishly going above and beyond the call of duty.

A graduate of Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois, Heather has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management. She is also a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) through the HR Certification Institute.
